Boosting low-temperature water gas shift reaction over Au/TiO2 nanocatalyst activated by oxygen plasma

Ye-Cheng Li et al.

Summary: Oxygen (O2) plasma activated Au/TiO2 nanocatalyst exhibits superior activity in the water gas shift (WGS) reaction at low temperatures, efficiently removing carbon monoxide (CO). Control of Au nanoparticle size, creation of coordinatively unsaturated sites and Auδ+-Oδ-Ti sites, modulation of electronic structure, greatly accelerates the WGS reaction.

Venkata D. B. C. Dasireddy et al.

Summary: Nanocomposite Cu-Mn-O nano-particle (CuMnNP) and nano-sheet (CuMnNS) catalysts were successfully prepared via a one-step hydrothermal method without any templating reagent. CuMnNS showed enhanced crystal lattice oxygen reactivity and higher O2 adsorption/storage capacity compared to CuMnNP. Additionally, CuMnNS demonstrated superior catalytic activity in the preferential oxidation (PROX) pathway of CO.

Very high loading oxidized copper supported on ceria to catalyze the water-gas shift reaction

Wen-Zhu Yu et al.

Summary: The study presents a highly active copper-ceria catalyst for the water-gas shift reaction, with oxidized copper sites identified as the active centers. The activation effect of copper on CeO2 promotes the diffusion of oxygen from the bulk to the surface, leading to copper oxidation even under reductive atmosphere.
