Fast uptake of organic pollutants from dilute aqueous solutions by nanoporous-crystalline PPO films with c-perpendicular orientation

Antonietta Cozzolino et al.

Summary: The ability of poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene)oxide (PPO) films to absorb organic pollutants dissolved in water is shown. The crystalline structure and orientation on the film surface play a significant role in determining the absorption efficiency.

Highly efficient hydroamination of phenylacetylenes with anilines catalysed by gold nanoparticles embedded in nanoporous polymer matrix: Insight into the reaction mechanism by kinetic and DFT investigations

Antonella Dentoni Litta et al.

Summary: The synthesis of aromatic ketimines via hydroamination of phenylacetylenes with anilines has been achieved with high yields and excellent selectivity using gold nanoparticles embedded in a copolymer matrix. The nanoporous polystyrenic support played a crucial role in enhancing the catalyst performance. The study also identified a new reaction pathway for the hydroamination reaction involving the formation of AN aggregates stabilized by hydrogen bonding interactions.
