Lattice occupying sites and microwave dielectric properties of Mg2+-Si4+ co-doped MgxY3-xAl5-xSixO12 garnet typed ceramics

Chen Li et al.

Summary: In this study, MgxY3-xAl5-xSixO12 ceramics were prepared and the effects of crystal structure and microstructure on microwave dielectric properties were investigated. Liquid phase sintering induced by doping of Mg2+-Si4+ reduced the sintering temperature and time of YAG ceramics. The results established a structure-property relation for MgxY3-xAl5-xSixO12 ceramics.

Crystal structure and microwave dielectric properties of Mg2+-Si4+ co-modified yttrium aluminum garnet ceramics

Guofa Wu et al.

Summary: This article investigates the effect of Mg2+-Si4+ ionic pairs doping on the structure and microwave dielectric properties of garnet-type Y3Al5O12 (YAG). The results show that increasing doping concentration decreases the sintering temperature and time for optimal densification. Excellent microwave dielectric properties were obtained for Y3Mg0.5Al4Si0.5O12 ceramics sintered at 1625 degrees C for 5 h. Factors influencing the microwave dielectric properties were discussed.

Phase composition, microstructure, and microwave dielectric properties of non-stoichiometric yttrium aluminum garnet ceramics

Moke Zhou et al.

Summary: This study investigated the impact of variations in different cation compositions on the phase composition, microstructure, and microwave dielectric properties of Y3+xAl5O12 ceramics. It was found that Al2O3 precipitated in Al-excess samples while YAlO3 secondary phase appeared in Y-excess samples, leading to an increase in lattice parameters. Additionally, a small amount of Y2O3 was found to promote continuous phase boundaries and facilitate the release of internal stresses.

Design of a High-Efficiency and -Gain Antenna Using Novel Low-Loss, Temperature-Stable Li2Ti1-x (Cu1/3Nb2/3)xO3 Microwave Dielectric Ceramics

Huan-Huan Guo et al.

Summary: Microwave dielectric ceramics with excellent properties such as high quality factor, low sintering temperature, small density, and good temperature stability were achieved by incorporating (Cu1/3Nb2/3)(4+) substitution and 3 wt % H3BO3 addition in Li2TiO3. The resulting LTCN0.2 + 3 wt % H3BO3 materials showed promising applications for SG mobile communication devices and low-temperature co-fired ceramic technology. Additionally, they were chemically compatible with silver and exhibited high simulated radiation efficiencies and gains in patch antenna and dielectric resonator antenna designs.

The simulation for a high-efficiency millimeter wave microstrip antenna by low dielectric loss and wide temperature stable lithium-based microwave dielectric ceramics for LTCC applications

Yu Zhan et al.

Summary: By introducing B2O3-CuO as a common flux agent, the sintering temperature of Li2TiO3 system for LTCC applications was successfully reduced, providing a new approach for microwave materials preparation. The optimized mass ratio of CuO to B2O3 resulted in excellent microwave dielectric properties and high temperature stability in the LTMF&LTZN(0.892)+CB1.2 ceramic.

Effects of MgO doping on microwave dielectric properties of yttrium aluminum garnet ceramics

Moke Zhou et al.

Summary: In this study, the crystal structures and microwave dielectric properties of Y3Al5O12 garnet doped with Magnesium were investigated. The addition of Mg effectively eliminated porosity in the system and significantly increased the relative density, leading to the improvement of Qxf value. Through crystal structure analysis and spectroscopy study, the Qxf value was dramatically promoted.

Effects of (Mg1/3Sb2/3)4+ substitution on the structure and microwave dielectric properties of Ce2Zr3(MoO4)9 ceramics

Xu Zhou et al.

Summary: Ce-2[Zr1-x(Mg1/3Sb2/3)x](3)(MoO4)(9) ceramics were prepared by the traditional solid-state method, and a single phase was obtained at sintering temperatures ranging from 700 to 850 degrees C. The crystal structure refinement was investigated using Rietveld refinement method, and the dielectric properties of Ce-2[Zr-0.94(Mg1/3Sb2/3)(0.06)](3)(MoO4)(9) ceramics were found to be excellent. The correlations between chemical bond parameters and microwave dielectric properties were analyzed using P-V-L theory.

Temperature stable Sm(Nb1-xVx)O4 (0.0 ≤ x ≤ 0.9) microwave dielectric ceramics with ultra-low dielectric loss for dielectric resonator antenna applications

Fang-Fang Wu et al.

Summary: The study found that V5+ substitution can induce the phase transition of Sm(Nb1-xVx)O-4 from monoclinic to tetragonal phase, effectively reducing the transition temperature. TEM analysis revealed the presence of two different orientation domain structures in the monoclinic phase, with the widths of these structures decreasing with an increase in B-site substitution. Furthermore, the variations in dielectric properties and resonance frequency temperature coefficient were strongly correlated with crystal distortion and phase transition.
