Elucidating different pattern of immunoregulation in BALB/c and C57BL/6 mice and their F1 progeny

Wiebke Hartmann et al.

Summary: This study compared the hierarchy of immunoregulatory pathways in BALB/c, C57BL/6 mice and their F1 progeny infected with S. ratti. The findings suggest that Treg dominate immune regulation in BALB/c and F1 mice, while C57BL/6 mice have multiple regulatory layers that may compensate for the absence of Treg.

Evaluation of licofelone as an adjunct anti-inflammatory therapy to biologic scaffolds in the treatment of volumetric muscle loss

Stephen M. Goldman et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the use of licofelone as an anti-inflammatory adjunct therapy for volumetric muscle loss (VML) treatment with biologic scaffolds. While the combination showed decreased transcription of pro-inflammatory markers, no differences were observed in expression profile of inflammatory-related factors or in histologic presentation of repaired tissue between groups. Furthermore, there were no differences in end organ functional capacity between groups, suggesting the need for polypharmaceutical strategies targeting multiple aspects of VML pathophysiology for effective local regenerative therapy.
