NiCo2N hollow sphere with interconnected nanosheets shell: A potential anode material for high performance lithium-ion batteries

Peiyao Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, a stable bimetal nitride NiCo2N hollow sphere material with interconnected nanosheets shell was successfully synthesized and showed excellent electrochemical performance as an anode for lithium-ion batteries. The unique structure effectively relieves the volume change of the electrode material and shortens the diffusion distance of lithium ions, leading to high discharge capacity and good cycling stability. The electrochemical reaction mechanism of the electrodes was revealed through ex situ XRD, ex situ EIS, and ex situ HRTEM characterization.

Carbon coated Li3VO4 microsphere: Ultrafast solvothermal synthesis and excellent performance as lithium-ion battery anode

Xiaoqing Liu et al.

Summary: Li3VO4 microspheres with an average diameter of 1.8 μm were successfully prepared via a solvothermal route, and exhibited excellent performance as an anode material for lithium ion batteries. The uniform microsphere morphology and the presence of carbon substance on the surface were key factors contributing to its outstanding electrochemical performance. When assembled into a full cell with commercial LiFePO4, three cells in series were able to power three red LEDs, demonstrating the great potential of Li3VO4 microsphere anode for practical applications in lithium ion batteries.
