Early Infarct Growth Rate Correlation With Endovascular Thrombectomy Clinical Outcomes Analysis From the SELECT Study

Amrou Sarraj et al.

Summary: This study found that the early infarct growth rate (EIGR) is strongly correlated with collateral status and clinical outcomes after endovascular thrombectomy (EVT), with slower progressors having higher rates of functional independence. The odds of good outcomes decrease as EIGR increases, with faster progressors experiencing a more rapid decline in likelihood of good outcomes.

Association of CT-Based Hypoperfusion Index With Ischemic Core Enlargement in Patients With Medium and Large Vessel Stroke

Ali Z. Nomani et al.

Summary: The study found that a hypoperfusion index (HI) greater than 0.5 was associated with fast infarct core progression, effectively distinguishing between fast and slow progressors in patients with different types of strokes. The HI was able to differentiate progression rates within the first 24 hours of acute ischemic stroke, providing potential implications for patient selection for reperfusion therapy.
