The immobilized enzyme demonstrated efficient removal of malachite green and congo red dyes through a synergistic adsorption degradation approach. This immobilized PersiLac1 enzyme showed remarkable improvement in dye removal and exhibited superior reusability and performance in treating complex textile effluents.

Zwitterionic Covalent Organic Frameworks: Attractive Porous Host for Gas Separation and Anhydrous Proton Conduction

Summary: Ionic covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with zwitterionic groups exhibit high SO2 adsorption capacity and impressive SO2/CO2 selectivity due to the separated cationic and anionic groups in their channels. The zwitterionic groups in COFs' channels can induce complete proton carrier deprotonation, leading to outstanding anhydrous proton conductivity. This work opens up possibilities for designing well-defined zwitterionic frameworks for gas separation and ion conduction.

Husbandry waste derived coralline-like composite biomass material for efficient heavy metal ions removal

Summary: Utilizing LiBr treatment and dopamine chemistry, cow dung waste was converted into a composite biomass material for efficient heavy metal ions removal. A selective etching mechanism of cellulose was discovered, leading to the large-scale preparation of a porous biomass material with significantly increased specific surface area. The fabricated material showed high adsorption capacity, rapid adsorption equilibrium, magnetic separation capability, and feasible recycling use.

Selective Separation of Phenanthrene from Aromatic Isomer Mixtures by a Water-Soluble Azobenzene-Based Macrocycle

Summary: A light-responsive water-soluble azobenzene-based macrocycle was synthesized and successfully employed in separating PHE from anthracene via a solid-liquid extraction method at ambient conditions. After five extraction cycles, the average purity for PHE reached about 91.1% and the macrocycle could be reused at least five times without significant reduction in separation performance. This work not only provides a new and clean way to separate PHE, but also advances the application of host-guest chemistry.

Taming the Topology of Calix[4]arene-Based 2D-Covalent Organic Frameworks: Interpenetrated vs Noninterpenetrated Frameworks and Their Selective Removal of Cationic Dyes
