UHPLC/MS and NMR-Based Metabolomic Analysis of Dried Water Extract of Citrus-Type Crude Drugs

Takashi Tsujimoto et al.

Summary: This study expanded the application scope by analyzing four CCD water extracts, revealing three distinct groups based on processed UPLC/MS and NMR analysis data, with naringin and neohesperidin as distinguishing components. NMR spectroscopy identified three primary metabolites as distinguishing compounds, despite fewer compounds detected compared to methanol extraction. The results suggest that combined NMR- and LC/MS-based metabolomics can effectively discriminate crude drugs in dried water extracts of CCDs.
