Panax Notoginseng Saponins suppresses TRPM7 via the PI3K/AKT pathway to inhibit hypertrophic scar formation in vitro

Yan Zhi et al.

Summary: The study found that Panax Notoginseng Saponins (PNS) could inhibit TRPM7 and PI3K/AKT signaling pathways, promoting apoptosis of hypertrophic scar fibroblasts (HSFs), reducing collagen synthesis, inhibiting cell migration, and preventing collagen deposition, thus suppressing scar formation.

The Hypolipidemic Effect of Dalbergia odorifera T. C. Chen Leaf Extract on Hyperlipidemic Rats and Its Mechanism Investigation Based on Network Pharmacology

Hui Mei et al.

Summary: The hypolipidemic effect and mechanism of Dalbergia odorifera leaf extract were investigated using a hyperlipidemic rat model. The extract significantly reduced serum levels of TG, TC, and LDL-C, while increasing HDL-C levels, and also attenuated hepatocyte steatosis and inflammatory infiltration. Network pharmacology-based analysis identified key targets and signaling pathways associated with hyperlipidemia, and it was verified that the extract downregulated the protein levels of SCAP, SREBP-2, and HMGCR, while upregulating LDLR protein levels.

METTL14-regulated PI3K/Akt signaling pathway via PTEN affects HDAC5-mediated epithelial-mesenchymal transition of renal tubular cells in diabetic kidney disease

Zhaoxia Xu et al.

Summary: HDAC5 plays a role in regulating EMT in HK2 cells by modulating TGF-beta 1, which can be influenced by the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway. METTL14, an m6A modification-associated enzyme, affects PI3K/Akt pathway through PTEN, leading to HDAC5-mediated EMT of renal tubular cells in diabetic kidney disease. Treatment with HDAC inhibitor TSA can alleviate extracellular matrix accumulation in kidneys of diabetic mice by downregulating HDAC5, TGF-beta 1, and alpha -SMA expression.

Healing potential of Spirulina platensis for skin wounds by modulating bFGF, VEGF, TGF-β1 and α-SMA genes expression targeting angiogenesis and scar tissue formation in the rat model

Zizy Elbialy et al.

Summary: The study found that topically applied Spirulina can promote wound healing by reducing inflammatory cell infiltration, promoting angiogenesis and epithelialization, inhibiting fibrosis, and aiding in wound contraction. This suggests that Spirulina may be used as a biomedical application to treat various skin wounds and may provide a potential molecular basis for future antifibrotic agents against scar formation.
