Effectiveness of Gamma Oryzanol on prevention of surgical induced endometriosis development in rat model

Mohammad Yari Eisalou et al.

Summary: This study assessed the effects of gamma-oryzanol (GO) in a rat model with surgically induced endometriosis. The results showed that GO improved the condition of rats with endometriosis by modulating the protein levels of certain molecules and inducing apoptosis.

Role of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) in Human Embryo Implantation: Clinical Implications

Xi Guo et al.

Summary: VEGF is a well-known angiogenic factor that plays a critical role in embryo implantation by enhancing embryo development and facilitating interactions between the embryo and endometrium. Changes in VEGF expression are correlated with reproductive failure, including recurrent implantation failure and recurrent miscarriage. This study aimed to clarify the role of VEGF in embryo implantation by reviewing recent literature and exploring its effects and underlying mechanisms.

Are the Effects of DES Over? A Tragic Lesson from the Past

Pilar Zamora-Leon

Summary: Diethylstilbestrol (DES), a transplacental endocrine-disrupting chemical, has been classified as carcinogenic to humans and shown to have extensive harmful effects on the genital tract, breast, neurodevelopment, socio-sexual behavior, and immune, pancreatic, and cardiovascular systems. Inter-generational effects of DES have been observed, and further cohort studies are needed to understand its transgenerational impact. Families previously exposed to DES and their future generations deserve continued research into its lasting effects.

Summary: The DES story is a model for the impact of endocrine disrupting chemicals on human health and a warning of the special hazards of pregnancy exposures, as well as the potential for invisible health consequences arising from new or changing exposures.
