Endoscopic ischemic polypectomy for small-bowel polyps in patients with Peutz-Jeghers syndrome

Tsevelnorov Khurelbaatar et al.

Summary: Ischemic polypectomy using detachable snare or endoclip with double-balloon endoscopy was found to be effective and feasible for controlling small-bowel polyps in patients with Peutz-Jeghers syndrome. There was a decreasing trend in the median number of polyps treated per patient over multiple sessions of DBE. No patient required laparotomy due to intussusception during the study period.

Summary: Scientific data on the management of Peutz-Jeghers syndrome (PJS) is limited, necessitating more collaborative studies for better understanding of this rare condition. Current guidelines only cover gastrointestinal and pancreatic management, leaving other aspects in need of further research and discussion.
