Observing Ram Pressure at Work in Intermediate Redshift Clusters with MUSE: The Case of Abell 2744 and Abell 370

Alessia Moretti et al.

Summary: This study utilized MUSE spectrograph to observe two intermediate redshift clusters and discovered 13 galaxies that were subject to ram pressure stripping. These galaxies exhibited clear signs of stripping in terms of gas properties and stellar features, with spectacular ionized gas tails. Additionally, it was found that ram pressure stripping was more effective during the intermediate redshift period.

MUSE sneaks a peek at extreme ram-pressure stripping events - V. Towards a complete view of the galaxy cluster A1367

Alex Pedrini et al.

Summary: We analyze the kinematics and ionization conditions of star-forming galaxies undergoing ram-pressure stripping in the A 1367 cluster and ESO137-001 galaxy in the Norma cluster. MUSE observations of two new galaxies in the sample, CGCG097-073 and CGCG097-079, are also presented. Our findings reveal that the [O I]/H alpha ratio is consistently higher in the stripped gas tails, which we attribute to shocks or turbulent phenomena. Compact star-forming regions are observed in only approximately 50% of the tails, suggesting specific conditions are required to trigger star formation. The interface regions between interstellar and intracluster mediums exhibit different line ratios, indicating different stages of the stripping process.

An atlas of MUSE observations towards twelve massive lensing clusters

Johan Richard et al.

Summary: This study presents a systematic analysis of integral-field-spectroscopy observations of 12 massive galaxy clusters, detecting over 3300 robust redshifts and identifying 312 strongly lensed sources producing 939 multiple images. By constructing mass models and using strong-lensing constraints, the redshift measurements were further confirmed.

Exemplary Merging Clusters: Weak-lensing and X-Ray Analysis of the Double Radio Relic, Merging Galaxy Clusters MACS J1752.0+4440 and ZWCL 1856.8+6616

Kyle Finner et al.

Summary: Studying merging galaxy clusters with radio relics enhances our knowledge of various aspects including galaxy cluster formation, dark matter, intracluster medium, and astrophysical particle acceleration. Despite vastly different total masses, the two clusters in this study exhibit comparable features in weak-lensing and gas distributions. The presence of double radio relics in these clusters provides important constraints on the merger scenario.
