Influence of support composition on enhancing the performance of Ce-V on TiO2 comprised tungsten-silica for NH3-SCR

Dong Wook Kwon et al.

Summary: The roles of WO3 and SiO2 as supported on TiO2 in Ce-V catalysts were systematically investigated for NH3-SCR and NH3-oxidation at high temperatures. The addition of SiO2 and WO3 to TiO2 resulted in increased surface area, reduced nanoparticle size, and enhanced catalytic defects and oxygen species on Ce-V/TWS surface. Increasing (V4+ + V3+) fraction improved catalytic activity, with WO3 and SiO2 promoting redox properties and making Ce-V/TWS the most suitable catalyst for N-2 production via NH3 direct oxidation at high temperatures.

Primary factors affecting denitrification efficiency of V-based catalysts in low-temperature selective catalytic reduction using NH3

Jong Min Won et al.

Summary: The denitrification efficiency of vanadium-based catalyst for low-temperature NH3-SCR highly depends on the structural species of VOx and the physicochemical properties of the catalyst. Factors identified to enhance the activity of low-temperature NH3-SCR include well dispersed monomeric VOx species, NH3-Lewis acid sites, and high oxygen mobility. Adsorbed oxygen species on the catalyst surface play a reactive role in enhancing oxygen mobility for low-temperature NH3-SCR.

The cause of deactivation of VOx/TiO2 catalyst by thermal effect and the role of tungsten addition

Jong Min Won et al.

Summary: The study investigated the changes in catalytic activities, characteristics, and causes of deactivation of V/Ti and V/W/Ti-based catalysts used in NH3-SCR. It was found that the main causes of SCR activity deactivation include the formation of crystalline V at high temperatures and the formation of Ti-V-O solid solution at low temperatures. The addition of W partially inhibited the formation of V2O5.
