Effect of Mo doping on the microstructures and mechanical properties of ZnO and AZO ceramics

Zhaoyang Li et al.

Summary: Mo doping can improve the mechanical properties of ZnO and AZO ceramics, but excessive doping concentration may lead to the formation of a new phase that affects the crystal structure and mechanical properties.

Effects of different valence states of Mo and point vacancies on magneto-optical properties of ZnO

Shulin Sha et al.

Summary: The study analyzed the formation energy, electronic structure, and optical properties of ZnO systems with different valence states of Mo and point vacancies using a specific computational method. It was found that Mo(6+)-doped ZnO had the lowest formation energy, stable system structure, and exhibited ferromagnetism. The absorption spectrum of the doped systems shifted to lower energies, expanding the range of photon energy response, which is beneficial for designing new diluted magnetic semiconductors and photocatalysts.

Cu(In,Ga)S2 nanowire arrays: Self-templated synthesis and application for photoelectrochemical water splitting

Liqiang Li et al.

Summary: Polycrystalline Cu(In,Ga)S-2 (CIGS) nanowire arrays were successfully synthesized for the first time via a solvothermal method using Cu2S NWAs as sacrificial templates. A novel cation-exchange growth mechanism was proposed, leading to improved photoelectrochemical performance compared to the pristine Cu2S templates.

First-principles study of structure, electrical and optical properties of Al and Mo co-doped ZnO

Zhaoyang Li et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of Al and Mo doping on ZnO transparent conductive films, revealing that Mo doping can improve carrier concentration and conductivity but deteriorate optical properties. Co-doping with Al and Mo can result in MAZO thin films with both high transparency and high conductivity.

Influence of Mo doping on the luminescence properties and defect states in ZnO nanorods. Comparison with ZnO:Mo thin films

M. Buryi et al.

Summary: ZnO:Mo powders of nano- and microrods were fabricated by hydrothermal growth, while ZnO:Mo thin films were synthesized for comparison. Characterization using various techniques revealed luminescence modifications in the samples with different Mo content under annealing at elevated temperatures. The EPR spectra showed unique signals before and after treatments, indicating the presence of specific defects and luminescent properties.
