SnO2 particles as efficient photocatalysts for organic dye degradation grown in-situ on g-C3N4 nanosheets by microwave-assisted hydrothermal method

Xueqian Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, SnO2 nanoparticles were grown in-situ on g-C3N4 nanosheets using a microwave-assisted hydrothermal method, leading to the formation of a heterojunction with excellent photocatalytic properties. UV-vis and photoluminescence results confirmed strong light adsorption and efficient separation of electron-hole pairs in the g-C3N4/SnO2 heterojunction, resulting in high photocatalytic efficiency for Rhodamine B degradation under both UV and visible light irradiation.

Nonlinear Photoelectric Properties by Strained MoS2 and SnO2 Core-Shell Nanotubes for Flexible Visible Light Photodetectors

Jin Kyu Han et al.

Summary: A novel coaxial hetero-structured MoS2/SnO2 nanotube array was designed for flexible visible light photodetection, achieving high photoresponsivity and external quantum efficiency through controlled deposition thickness and strain. The linear correlation between excitation power and photocurrent, as well as the superlinearity of photocurrent in the device, were observed, with density functional theory calculations revealing a strong correlation between strain, bandgap, and photocurrent. The study suggests a detailed mechanism for enhancing photoresponsivity in the strain-tailored nanotube arrays, which are expected to revolutionize smart optical devices with low driving voltage and high power efficiency.
