Enhanced Thermoelectric Performance of Bi-Se Co-Doped Cu1.8S via Carrier Concentration Regulation and Multiscale Phonon Scattering

Ying-Hao Zhao et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that Bi-Se co-doping can significantly enhance the thermoelectric properties of copper sulfides by introducing extra electrons and multiscale defects to reduce thermal conductivity, resulting in a higher ZT value compared to pure copper sulfides. This is of great importance for the development of high-performance thermoelectric materials.

Realize High Thermoelectric Properties in n-Type Bi2Te2.7Se0.3/Y2O3 Nanocomposites by Constructing Heterointerfaces

Qiujun Hu et al.

Summary: In this study, n-type Bi2Te2.7Se0.3 based thermoelectric materials incorporated with nanosized Y2O3 were prepared and studied, leading to significantly improved thermoelectric performance due to the multiscale interface modifications induced by the Y2O3 nanoparticles. The addition of Y2O3 NPs effectively reduced the thermal conductivity, increased the hardness, and maintained excellent thermoelectric properties in the entire operating temperature range. The strategy of high-density heterogeneous interfaces implemented by Y2O3 NP addition provides a feasible pathway for fabricating high-performance thermoelectric materials with optimized properties.

Synergetic Enhancement of the Power Factor and Suppression of Lattice Thermal Conductivity via Electronic Structure Modification and Nanostructuring on a Ni- and B-Codoped p-Type Si-Ge Alloy for Thermoelectric Application

Omprakash Muthusamy et al.

Summary: Modifying the electronic structure, tuning carrier concentration, and nano-structuring were effective strategies to improve the power factor and reduce the thermal conductivity of Si-Ge material. By introducing nickel and boron into Si-Ge, the electronic structure was modified and the carrier concentration was optimized, leading to a high power factor and reduced thermal conductivity at 1000 K. Ultimately, a large dimensionless figure of merit ZT of around 1.56 was achieved, indicating enhanced thermoelectric performance of Si-Ge.
