Adsorption property of fluoride in water by metal organic framework: Optimization of the process by response surface methodology technique

Summary: In this study, three types of metal-organic frameworks adsorbents were used to remove fluoride from wastewater, and the adsorption conditions were optimized. Among them, aluminum metal-organic frameworks showed the best adsorption performance. The study also revealed that pH was the most important factor influencing fluoride removal by one of the metal-organic frameworks.

Facile preparation of nanostructured Pd-Sch-δ-FeOOH particles: A highly effective and easily retrievable catalyst for aryl halide cyanation and p-nitrophenol reduction

Summary: Iron based compounds are good supports for immobilizing transition metals, as shown in this study where palladium nanoparticles were stabilized on Schiff base modified delta-FeOOH particles to create an effective and recoverable catalyst. The catalyst showed high catalytic efficiency in reactions to prepare benzonitriles and reduce p-nitrophenol, and was found to be recyclable.

Fe and Ni nanoparticles-loaded zeolites as effective catalysts for catalytic reduction of organic pollutants

Summary: Three different zeolites were synthesized by hydrothermal method and used to stabilize Fe and Ni nanoparticles, followed by reduction with NaBH4. The designed nanocatalysts were effective in catalytic reduction of methylene blue and 4-nitrophenol in wastewater treatment. Characterization results showed well retained zeolite structure after immobilization of metal nanoparticles, with Ni-Y catalyst showing excellent catalytic activity.

Preparation of PdNPs doped chitosan-based composite hydrogels as highly efficient catalysts for reduction of 4-nitrophenol

Summary: A series of Pd nanoparticle (PdNPs) doped chitosan (CS)-based composite hydrogel catalysts were successfully prepared in this study, showing improved catalytic activity and reusability compared to traditional CS-PdNPs catalysts. Composite hydrogel catalysts containing carbon nanotubes demonstrated the best catalytic performance with the smallest particle size of PdNPs. This work provides new insights for the development of stable and efficient precious metal nanoparticle catalysts for aqueous phase catalysis.

Self-assembled ZIF-67@graphene oxide as a cobalt-based catalyst precursor with enhanced catalytic activity toward methanolysis of sodium borohydride

Summary: In this study, a composite of ZIF-67 and graphene oxide (GO) was successfully synthesized and applied in the methanolysis of NaBH4 for hydrogen release, showing that the ZIF-67@GO precursor with high GO doping had higher activity and durability. A possible mechanism for hydrogen generation using the ZIF-67@GO catalyst was proposed.

Development of alginate@tin oxide-cobalt oxide nanocomposite based catalyst for the treatment of wastewater

Summary: In this study, tin oxide-cobalt oxide nanocatalyst was prepared and wrapped in alginate polymer hydrogel for catalyzing the transformation of pollutants. The nanocatalysts showed synergistically faster reduction of methylene blue compared to other dyes, especially Alg@tin oxide-cobalt oxide nanocatalyst exhibited high efficiency in real samples.
