New divalent metal ion complexes with 1,8-diaminonapthalene-2-thione: Synthesis, Spectroscopic, anti-bacterial and anticancer activity studies

Ahmed S. Faihan et al.

Summary: Treatment of 1,8-diaminonaphthalene-2-thione with various metal(II) salts resulted in neutral thione complexes and thionate derived complexes, characterized by different spectroscopic techniques. The compounds exhibited diverse structural geometries, with Pd(II) and Pt(II) complexes showing square planar geometry, and Hg(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II) thione complexes likely adopting tetrahedral structures. SEM analysis of the complexes revealed nano-structural characteristics, with complexes (3, 5) and (8) showing irregular nano-structures, nano-rod structures, and nano-sphere patterns, respectively. Moreover, the palladium complex demonstrated significant antiproliferative and antibacterial activities compared to other complexes.

Preparation, Characterization of Novel Cadmium-Based Metal-Organic Framework for Using as a Highly Selective and Sensitive Modified Carbon Paste Electrode in Determination of Cu(II) Ion

Reem G. Deghadi et al.

Summary: A new organic linker Schiff base (H2L) was successfully synthesized and characterized for the preparation of a cadmium-based metal-organic framework (Cd-MOF). The Cd-MOF showed mesoporous structure and exhibited high selectivity for Cu(II) ions, making it a promising candidate for Cu(II) ion determination in real water samples.

Potentiometric Determination of the Al(III) Ion in Polluted Water and Pharmaceutical Samples by a Novel Mesoporous Copper Metal-Organic Framework-Modified Carbon Paste Electrode

Nessma F. Mahmoud et al.

Summary: Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are promising materials for ionophores due to their unique features, such as high surface area and porous structure. A carbon paste electrode based on a novel Cu-MOF with a nano-Schiff base linker was developed for accurate determination of Al(III) ions. The sensor exhibited excellent precision and accuracy in different real water and pharmaceutical samples, showing good agreement with atomic absorption spectroscopy results.

Synthesis and structure of mono and bis {1,3-bis(2-pyridylimino)isoindoline} supported 3d transition metal complexes

G. Reshma et al.

Summary: A series of homoleptic and heteroleptic 3d transition metal complexes were synthesized with analytically pure form and high yield using 1,3-bis(2-pyridylimino)isoindolate (BPIH) ligand. The homoleptic complexes exhibited a distorted octahedral structure with two meridionally coordinating BPI ligands, while the heteroleptic complexes showed a highly distorted square pyramidal geometry with a planar tridentate BPI ligand coordinating to the metal center along with chloro and aqua ligands. These complexes have unique structural features and potential catalytic applications.
