A study on the effect of magnetic field and the sinusoidal boundary condition on free convective heat transfer of non-Newtonian power-law fluid in a square enclosure with two constant-temperature obstacles using lattice Boltzmann method

Sara Rostami et al.

Summary: This paper compares the flow pattern and thermal characteristics of a Newtonian magnetohydrodynamic fluid with two different non-Newtonian power-law fluids in a square enclosure. The study examines the impact of Rayleigh number, power-law index, Hartmann number, and periodicity of sinusoidal boundary condition on the hydrodynamic and thermal characteristics. Results indicate that increasing Rayleigh number increases Nusselt number, while increasing power-law index and Hartmann number decreases Nusselt number for different fluid types.

Spectral computation of reactive bi-directional hydromagnetic non-Newtonian convection flow from a stretching upper parabolic surface in non-Darcyporous medium

A. Shahid et al.

Summary: This paper presents a mathematical model for bi-directional convection magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) tangent hyperbolic nanofluid flow with various effects included. The study shows that key parameters have significant influence on transport characteristics, leading to different trends in velocity and temperature profiles. Additionally, skin friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number are calculated to further understand the nanocoating process.

The Horton-Rogers-Lapwood problem in a Jeffrey fluid influenced by a vertical magnetic field

Dhananjay Yadav et al.

Summary: The study found that the stability of the Jeffrey fluid convection through a porous medium is reduced with an increase in the Jeffrey parameter, but increased with magnetic field parameters. The size of convective cells also decreases with Jeffrey and magnetic field parameters. The presence of a magnetic field indicates the possibility of the survival of the oscillatory mode of convection.

Influence of anisotropy on the Jeffrey fluid convection in a horizontal rotary porous layer

Dhananjay Yadav

Summary: This study investigates the stability analysis of thermal convection for a Jeffrey fluid with rotation in an anisotropic porous medium using a modified Jeffrey-Darcy model. It is observed that the rotation and anisotropic thermal diffusivity delay the onset of convection, while the Jeffrey parameter and anisotropic permeability exhibit a dual effect in the presence of rotation. The extent of convection cell decreases with rotation and Jeffrey parameters, but increases with the thermal anisotropy parameter. Previous outcomes are also regained as special cases in the current analysis.
