An Upgraded Siamese Neural Network for Motion Tracking in Ultrasound Image Sequences

Skanda Bharadwaj et al.

Summary: This article proposes an upgraded Siamese neural network for robust and accurate landmark tracking in ultrasound images, addressing the limitations of the constant position model and missing motion model with new modules. Experimental results show promising accuracy without the use of transfer learning, outperforming the original Siamese architecture significantly.

The Effect of Different Flaw Data to Machine Learning Powered Ultrasonic Inspection

Tuomas Koskinen et al.

Summary: The research demonstrates the use of modern deep convolutional neural networks in detecting flaws in phased-array ultrasonic data by generating ample flaw data using virtual flaws. Training human inspectors also requires similar processes, with scarce training data and different artificial flaws yielding different results.

The Effect of High Glass Fiber Content and Reinforcement Combination on Pulse-Echo Ultrasonic Measurement of Composite Ship Structures

Sang-Gyu Lee et al.

Summary: This study investigated the production characteristics of GFRP composite laminates using ultrasonic nondestructive evaluation. It was found that laminates made from a combination of CSM and WR fabrics had higher quality, prevented void formation, and improved inter-layer bonding compared to those made from only CSM. This suggests that combined CSM-WR laminates should be used for more accurate ultrasonic NDE of GFRP composite structures.
