Role of Metabolic Endotoxemia in Systemic Inflammation and Potential Interventions

Shireen Mohammad et al.

Summary: Diet-induced metabolic endotoxemia can lead to chronic inflammatory conditions due to changes in gut permeability, causing toxins to enter the bloodstream and triggering systemic inflammation. verschiedenen pro-inflammatory cytokines, resulting in chronic low-grade inflammation.

Malonic acid suppresses lipopolysaccharide-induced BV2 microglia cell activation by inhibiting the p38 MAPK/NF-κB pathway

Hana Lee et al.

Summary: Inflammatory reaction in the brain, caused by microglia activation, is associated with the development of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Malonic acid has anti-inflammatory effects on microglia, reducing pro-inflammatory responses and regulating specific pathways. This study suggests that malonic acid could be a potential therapeutic candidate for neuroinflammatory diseases.

MKP-3 suppresses LPS-induced inflammatory responses in HUVECs via inhibition of p38 MAPK/NF-κB pathway

Banzragchgarav Unenkhuu et al.

Summary: The study found that overexpression of MKP-3 inhibited adhesion of THP-1 cells to HUVECs by reducing expression of VCAM-1 and inflammatory cytokines, while knockdown of MKP-3 gene exacerbated LPS-induced endothelial dysfunction. Additionally, MKP-3 overexpression suppressed LPS-induced p38 MAPK phosphorylation and prevented nuclear translocation of NF-kappa B, suggesting a protective role of MKP-3 in endothelial dysfunction through the LPS/TLR4/p38/NF-kappa B pathway.
