Mechanochemical Cellular Membrane Internalization of Nanohydrogels: A Large-Scale Mesoscopic Simulation

Summary: The study reveals that the behavior of nanohydrogels in cellular internalization pathways is determined by their crosslink density and encapsulation ability, leading to different internalization modes for homogeneous and heterogeneous nanohydrogels. Additionally, both homogeneous and heterogeneous nanohydrogels undergo dual morphological deformations during internalization, but the heterogeneous ones exhibit reduced contact area with the membrane, thereby avoiding potential cellular toxicity.
