Rapid, Ordered Polymerization of Crystalline Semiconducting Covalent Triazine Frameworks

Tian Sun et al.

Summary: This study successfully demonstrated a rapid synthetic method for crystalline CTFs and revealed their polymerization mechanism. Photocatalytic studies with CTFs of different crystallinity showed that large crystalline domains can significantly enhance catalytic performance. Moreover, single-layer and few-layer crystalline 2D triazine polymer nanosheets can be obtained through simple ball-milling exfoliation, leading to nearly fivefold improvement in photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate.

Two-Dimensional Polymers and Polymerizations

Austin M. Evans et al.

Summary: Synthetic chemists have developed various methods to synthesize molecules, polymers, and networks, but have long lacked the ability to prepare two-dimensional polymers from designed monomers. Recent advances in polymerization strategies and characterization methods have enabled the realization of covalently linked macromolecular sheets. Three predominant 2D polymerization strategies have emerged, producing 2DPs as either monolayers or multilayer assemblies.

Emerging Two-Dimensional Covalent and Coordination Polymers for Stable Lithium Metal Batteries: From Liquid to Solid

Jiwei Wang et al.

Summary: Lithium metal anodes have high theoretical capacity and low electrochemical potential, but their commercial development is hindered by unstable solid electrolyte interphases and uncontrollable lithium dendrite growth. Emerging 2D polymers have shown great advantages in addressing these issues, offering insights into developing high-energy-density lithium metal batteries.

Covalent Triazine Frameworks as Emerging Heterogeneous Photocatalysts

Zhuangfei Qian et al.

Summary: This review summarizes the recent developments in Covalent triazine frameworks (CTFs) as a new class of visible light-active, metal-free, and polymer-based heterogeneous photocatalysts. It discusses various physical and chemical design strategies for morphology, band structure, charge separation, and transfer optimization that directly impact their photocatalytic efficiency, with emphasis on enhancing and maximizing the efficiency for specific applications.

Highly Stable Single Crystals of Three-Dimensional Porous Oligomer Frameworks Synthesized under Kinetic Conditions

Linxiao Hou et al.

Summary: Various robust, crystalline, and porous organic frameworks based on in situ-formed imine-linked oligomers were investigated. These oligomers self-assembled through collaborative intermolecular hydrogen bonding interactions via liquid-liquid interfacial reactions, and the resulting structures were unambiguously determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The hierarchical arrangements increased the steric hindrance of the imine bond, preventing attacks from water molecules and improving stability.
