Hydrogel-assisted paper-based lateral flow sensor for the detection of trypsin in human serum

Jiantao Ping et al.

Summary: The detection of trypsin and its inhibitor using a hydrogel-assisted paper-based lateral flow sensor is demonstrated for the first time. The system has a low detection limit of 1.0 x 10-6 mg/mL, and can also be applied for quantitative detection of trypsin in human serum. It offers a simple, elegant, robust, competitive, high-throughput, and low-cost approach for the rapid and label-free detection, showing great potential for commercial sensing, diagnostic, and pharmaceutical applications.

Rapid Distance-Based Cardiac Troponin Quantification Using Paper Analytical Devices for the Screening and the Follow-Up of Acute Myocardial Infarction, Using a Single Drop of Human Whole Blood

Kawin Khachornsakkul et al.

Summary: This work introduces a procedure using non-immunoassay distance-based paper analytical devices to measure cardiac troponin I (TnI) in whole blood samples accurately and rapidly, without the need for external blood separation. The dPADs provide a linear evaluation range for TnI with a high level of accuracy, demonstrating significant benefits for rapid TnI determination in clinical settings.

Detector-Free Photothermal Bar-Chart Microfluidic Chips (PT-Chips) for Visual Quantitative Detection of Biomarkers

Wan Zhou et al.

Summary: This study introduces nanomaterial-mediated photothermal effects to develop a new type of photothermal bar-chart microfluidic chip (PT-Chip) for visual quantitative detection of biochemicals without the need for bulky and expensive analytical instruments. The PT-Chip was able to simultaneously detect four different human serum samples, showing good analytical performance and a limit of detection of 2.1 ng/mL.

A hollow visible-light-responsive surface molecularly imprinted polymer for the detection of chlorpyrifos in vegetables and fruits

Mei-jun Chen et al.

Summary: A visible-light-responsive azobenzene derivative was synthesized and used to fabricate a core-shell structured surface molecularly imprinted polymer, as well as a hollow structured surface molecularly imprinted polymer, for the detection of chlorpyrifos in fruit and vegetable samples. Both polymers exhibited good visible-light-responsive properties and the hollow structured polymer showed superior characteristics for chlorpyrifos detection.
