Simple laser-induced graphene fiber electrode fabrication for high-performance heavy-metal sensing

Seong-Eun Jeong et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the fabrication of a high-performing heavy metal sensor using laser-induced graphene fiber (LIGF) electrodes for simultaneous detection of cadmium and lead ions. The LIGF-based sensor showed high sensitivity, broad linear detection ranges, and low detection limits, promising potential for high-performance heavy metal detection applications that require fast and simple manufacturing practices.

Simultaneous detection of trace Pb(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II) by anodic stripping analyses with glassy carbon electrode modified by solid phase synthesized iron-aluminate nano particles

Pavel Sengupta et al.

Summary: This paper presents a novel ultrasensitive simultaneous detection procedure for heavy metals (HMs) lead, cadmium, and mercury using a Fe-Al MMON on glassy carbon electrode. The Ch-MMON/GCE electrode showed excellent sensitivity with detection limits well below WHO permissible limits, especially with the DPV method. The proposed method could accurately measure HMs in river water, demonstrating significant performance and reliability.

Electrochemical Improvements Can Be Realized via Shortening the Length of Screen-Printed Electrochemical Platforms

Matthew J. Whittingham et al.

Summary: This paper explores the impact of changing the connection length of screen-printed electrodes (SPEs) on their resistance, finding that altering the connection length can improve the accuracy of heterogeneous electrode kinetics. It is recommended that in future use of SPEs, experimenters report the length and resistance of the working electrode connection to facilitate standardization across the field.
