Stress and coping during COVID-19 pandemic: Result of an online survey

Nilamadhab Kar et al.

Summary: The study assessed stress, anxiety, depression, and coping strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic through an online survey. A considerable proportion of respondents displayed moderate to severe anxiety and depression, with stress symptoms suggestive of probable PTSD also present in a significant percentage. Mental health issues were significantly associated with students, young adults, singles, and university educated individuals. Healthcare workers also experienced stress symptoms, anxiety, and depression, although in a lower proportion compared to other groups. Various coping strategies were reported, with those who avoided thinking about the pandemic or struggled to cope showing greater anxiety and depression levels. There is a need to establish mental health support systems and public education on coping strategies and stress management.

SARS-CoV-2: a systematic review of indoor air sampling for virus detection

Joao Tito Borges et al.

Summary: Indoor air monitoring may be necessary post-pandemic to safeguard public health, and well-defined methods, protocols, and equipment play a crucial role in this. A literature review on indoor air sampling methods for detecting viruses, especially SARS-CoV-2, suggests that solid impactors are more effective than liquid impactors or filters, and combining various methods may be recommended for optimal efficacy.
