Prevalence of comorbidities among individuals with COVID-19: A rapid review of current literature

Summary: Hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases are the most common comorbidities among COVID-19 positive patients across major epicenters worldwide. While having comorbidities is associated with increased disease severity, there is no clear association found between these risk factors and increased risk of fatality.

Association of Vitamin D Levels, Race/Ethnicity, and Clinical Characteristics With COVID-19 Test Results

Summary: This study found that in Black individuals, the risk of COVID-19 positive results was 2.64 times higher with vitamin D levels of 30 to 39.9 ng/mL compared to levels of 40 ng/mL or higher, and decreased by 5% per 1-ng/mL increase in levels above 30 ng/mL. There were no significant associations of vitamin D levels with COVID-19 positivity rates in White individuals.
