Vertical graphene-coated Cu wire for enhanced tolerance to high current density in power transmission

Kun Wang et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates the potential of using hydrophobic vertical graphene as a corrosion and oxidation barrier for metal wires in high-power cables and electronic devices in harsh environments. By directly synthesizing the hydrophobic VG coating, the electrochemical corrosion rate of the wires can be effectively reduced, and their tolerance under high-power and harsh conditions can be significantly enhanced.

Adhesion-Enhanced Vertically Oriented Graphene on Titanium-Covered Quartz Glass toward High-Stability Light-Dimming-Related Applications

Fan Zhou et al.

Summary: By introducing an ultrathin titanium film as an adhesion layer on a quartz glass substrate for plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition growth of vertically oriented graphene films, the adhesion property and interface stability of graphene have been significantly enhanced. Precise control over the transparent/conductive property, surface roughness, and hydrophobicity of the graphene films has been achieved by varying the growth time. The hybrids show promising application potentials in light-dimming related fields such as electro-heating defogging lenses and neutral density filters for medical endoscope defogging and camera photography.
