Stretchable Neuromorphic Transistor That Combines Multisensing and Information Processing for Epidermal Gesture Recognition

Lu Liu et al.

Summary: This article presents a nanowire-channel intrinsically stretchable neuromorphic transistor (NISNT) that can perceive tactile and visual information and emulate neuromorphic processing. The NISNT shows excellent stretching endurance, with stable electrical properties after 1000 stretch cycles. It is used as a multisensitive afferent nerve attached to fingers for conformal strain sensing and gesture recognition. The shape changes represented by excitatory postsynaptic current in each device are analyzed using softmax activation processing of the neural network to recognize gestures.

Self-powered ultraflexible photonic skin for continuous bio-signal detection via air-operation-stable polymer light-emitting diodes

Hiroaki Jinno et al.

Summary: The integration of ultraflexible optical sensors with power sources faces challenges due to the insufficient air operational stability of polymer light-emitting diodes. However, by combining air-operation-stable polymer light-emitting diodes, organic solar cells, and organic photodetectors, a self-powered organic optical system for photoplethysmogram monitoring has been developed. This system demonstrates high linearity and stability, making it suitable for long-term health monitoring applications.

Imperceptible energy harvesting device and biomedical sensor based on ultraflexible ferroelectric transducers and organic diodes

Andreas Petritz et al.

Summary: This study introduces ultraflexible ferroelectric polymer transducers and organic diodes for imperceptible sensing and energy harvesting, showing enhanced sensitivity and excellent flexibility when integrated on ultrathin substrates. These technologies enable the development of imperceptible wireless e-health patches with improved sensitivity, fast response, and mechanical stability for precise monitoring of vital parameters. Additionally, combining transducers with rectifiers based on ultraflexible organic diodes results in a thin and efficient energy harvesting device with great potential for self-powering e-health systems.
