Investigation of Hot Carrier Cooling Dynamics in Monolayer MoS2

Wenyan Wang et al.

Summary: The hot carrier cooling dynamics in monolayer MoS2 C-excitonic state is affected by the hot phonon bottleneck and Auger heating effects, and can be prolonged by increasing the excitation photon energy or absorbed photon flux. The combination of these effects weakens the hot phonon bottleneck and extends the hot carrier lifetime, which has implications for various applications in advanced energy conversion and quantum technology.

Reducing the impact of Auger recombination in quasi-2D perovskite light-emitting diodes

Yuanzhi Jiang et al.

Summary: By reducing the exciton binding energy of materials and employing a polar molecule for treatment, the Auger recombination effect in perovskite materials has been successfully suppressed, leading to efficient PeLEDs devices with outstanding photoluminescence quantum yields. Additionally, a record luminance of 82,480 cd m(-2) was achieved due to the suppressed efficiency roll-off, making it one of the brightest visible PeLEDs to date.

Anisotropic 2D excitons unveiled in organic-inorganic quantum wells

Lorenzo Maserati et al.

Summary: This study investigates the photophysics of hybrid material systems and reveals that strongly anisotropic excitons dominate the optical transitions in a non-polar dielectric environment. The research provides insights into controlling exciton behavior by changing the chalcogen in the material lattice, offering design principles for engineering complex dielectric environments in emerging materials.

Photo-electrical properties of 2D quantum confined metal-organic chalcogenide nanocrystal films

Lorenzo Maserati et al.

Summary: Hybrid quantum wells, particularly 2D materials, are attracting attention due to their rich many-body phenomena, tunability, and easy synthesis, making them potential candidates for a wide range of optoelectronic devices. However, the presence of toxic elements and stability issues in current 2D hybrids have led to the exploration of non-toxic alternatives like metal-organic chalcogenides. The electrical properties of air-stable 2D coordination polymers like [AgSePh](infinity) have been studied, suggesting their potential use as UV photodetectors with high sensitivity and reliability on flexible substrates.
