Creation of a linked cohort of children and their parents in a large, national electronic health record dataset

Heather Angier et al.

Summary: This study identified a national cohort of children linked to at least one parent in electronic health record data and described their demographics. The research found that 33% of children were able to be linked to a parent in electronic health record data from a large network of community health centers across the United States. Further analyses using these linkages will allow examination of multi-level factors impacting a child's receipt of recommended health care.
