First reference on reproductive biology of Butis koilomatodon in Mekong Delta, Vietnam

Summary: This study investigated the reproductive traits of Butis koilomatodon in the Mekong Delta, revealing it to be a multiple spawner species that reproduces throughout the year. The length at first maturity for males was generally higher than females, and batch fecundity increased with fish weight and length. The knowledge gained from this study can serve as a reference for future research and management of this species.

Length-weight relationship and condition factor of the mudskipper (Periophthalmus modestus) in the Red River Delta

Summary: This study investigated the variation of length-weight relationship (LWR) and condition factor (K) among sexes, developmental stages, seasons, and habitats of Periophthamus modestus in Vietnam. The results showed positive allometric growth and high K value, indicating the species' adaptation to the environmental conditions in the study area. The higher variation in sex ratio, growth pattern, and K of the more southern population reflects the biodiversity of this mudskipper across its distributional range.
