X-Mark: a benchmark for node-attributed community discovery algorithms

A new attributed graph clustering by using label propagation in complex networks

Summary: The diffusion method is a major approach for community detection in complex networks. The LPA algorithm, which mimics epidemic contagion, is efficient but has some issues. This paper proposes a new version of the LPA algorithm for attributed graphs that solves problems related to instability and low quality, and improves node selection and updating mechanisms. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms other state-of-the-art attributed graph clustering methods in terms of efficiency and accuracy.

Conformity: A Path-Aware Homophily Measure for Node-Attributed Networks

Summary: Unveiling homophilic/heterophilic behaviors in complex networks is crucial in social network analysis, often done by studying assortative mixing of node attributes. A novel measure called "Conformity" is proposed in this work to quantify assortative mixing patterns from a node-centric perspective, providing a more detailed evaluation of the impact nodes at different separations have on a target's homophilic embeddedness. Experimental analysis shows that "Conformity" can unveil valuable insights from node-attributed graphs.
