Validation of the Fear of COVID-19 Scale in a US College Sample

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has affected college students' coursework, stress levels, and perceived health. A method for assessing student anxiety regarding the pandemic is needed. The Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S) has been validated and shown to possess good psychometric qualities. In this study with US college students, the FCV-19S demonstrated high reliability and validity, and its scores were positively correlated with anxiety for married or Asian students.

Depression, anxiety and stress among patients with inflammatory bowel disease during the COVID-19 pandemic: Australian national survey

Summary: This study identified a high prevalence of undiagnosed depression, anxiety, and stress among IBD patients in Australia during the COVID-19 pandemic. Factors such as younger age, lack of access to an IBD nurse, and lack of education on reducing infection risk were associated with significant stress, anxiety, and/or depression. Improved access to IBD nurse support and greater attention to education may help reduce mental health issues among patients with IBD during the pandemic.
