Highly In-Plane Anisotropic 2D PdSe2for Polarized Photodetection with Orientation Selectivity

Lejing Pi et al.

Summary: A peculiar noble metal dichalcogenide, PdSe(2), with a puckered pentagonal structure and abnormal linear dichroism conversion, is demonstrated to exhibit strong in-plane anisotropic optical and electrical properties, making it a promising platform for investigating anisotropic structure-property correlations in polarization-sensitive photodetection.

Tunable strongly coupled superconductivity in magic-angle twisted trilayer graphene

Jeong Min Park et al.

Summary: Moire superlattices have become a platform for studying correlated physics and superconductivity with unprecedented tunability. This study on magic-angle twisted trilayer graphene reveals a better tunability of electronic structure and superconducting properties than magic-angle twisted bilayer graphene, with implications for the understanding of strongly coupled superconductivity. The results suggest that the system can be electrically tuned close to the crossover to a two-dimensional Bose-Einstein condensate, indicating the potential for revolutionizing applications of superconductivity.

Nematicity and competing orders in superconducting magic-angle graphene

Yuan Cao et al.

Summary: In magic-angle twisted bilayer graphene, intertwined phases with broken rotational symmetry have been identified, showing strong thermodynamic anisotropy and appearing above the underdoped region of the superconducting dome. A reduction in critical temperature is observed when it intersects with the superconducting dome, with the superconducting state exhibiting anisotropic response to in-plane magnetic fields, suggesting nematic ordering plays a significant role in the low-temperature phases of magic-angle TBG.

Fast Photothermoelectric Response in CVD-Grown PdSe2 Photodetectors with In-Plane Anisotropy

Gang Li et al.

Summary: The study shows a photothermoelectric effect in PdSe2-based photodetectors, with unique photoresponse from an electron temperature gradient. The PdSe2 photodetector exhibits high performance in terms of ultrafast response speed, high air-stability, broadband spectrum photodetection, reasonable responsivity, and anisotropic optical response. This research opens up a new pathway for developing high-performance photodetectors based on PdSe2 layered materials.
