Evaluation of a standardized mixture of synbiotic-glyconutrients as a feed additive in steers fed a finishing diet: Site and extent of digestion, ruminal fermentation, and microbial protein synthesis

V. H. Nunez-Benitez et al.

Summary: The study showed that supplementation of synbiotic-glyconutrients (GLY) can enhance ruminal microbial synthesis and nitrogen digestion, decrease the molar proportion of butyrate in the rumen, and increase ruminal pH. GLY supplementation did not significantly affect the digestion of organic matter and fiber, but improved postruminal and total tract nitrogen digestion.

The Impact of Inulin and a Novel Synbiotic (Yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae Strain 1026 and Inulin) on the Development and Functional State of the Gastrointestinal Canal of Calves

S. Jonova et al.

Summary: This study aimed to determine the impact of prebiotic inulin and synbiotic on the development of the gastrointestinal canal of calves. The results showed that the synbiotic has the potential to promote the development of the rumen and other parts of the digestive canal of calves, positively impacting almost all morphological structures. However, both inulin and synbiotic did not affect the weight and relative weight of different parts of the stomach.
