The effects of job crafting on tour leaders' work engagement: the mediating role of person-job fit and meaningfulness of work

How different forms of job crafting relate to job satisfaction: The role of person-job fit and age

Summary: The purpose of this research is to explore the effects of different job crafting strategies on employees' person-job fit and job satisfaction, and to examine the moderating role of employees' age. The findings indicate that task, relational, and cognitive crafting strategies have indirect effects on job satisfaction through perceived person-job fit. Furthermore, the relationships between task and relational crafting with person-job fit are stronger among younger employees, while the relationship between cognitive crafting and person-job fit is stronger among older employees. This research provides insights into how organizations can help employees of all ages benefit from utilizing different job crafting strategies, and discusses future directions for job crafting research.

Employee-fit and turnover intentions: The role of job engagement and psychological contract violation in the hospitality industry

Summary: The study aimed to develop and test a comprehensive model on the association between employee-fit and turnover intention in the hospitality industry. Results showed that person-organization fit and person-job fit are negatively associated with employee turnover intention, with employee engagement playing a mediating role. Additionally, psychological contract violation was found to weaken the indirect effects of fit on turnover intention for employees with high violation levels.

Summary: This study examines the relationships among workplace friendship, role ambiguity, and work engagement in the hospitality domain, finding that workplace friendship positively impacts work engagement with role ambiguity partially mediating the relationship. The development of workplace friendship among employees is suggested as a feasible job resource for increasing work engagement. The mediating role of role ambiguity should not be overlooked and the findings contribute to the theory and practice of the relationships among job resources, job demands, and work engagement.

The findings highlight the importance of implementing SRHR practices and fostering authentic leadership behavior in hospitality organizations to improve employee outcomes.
