Compulsory citizenship behaviour and work-family conflict: A moderated mediation model

Pei Chen et al.

Summary: The purpose of this study is to examine the factors that influence the relationship between compulsory citizenship behaviour (CCB) and work-family conflict. The findings reveal a positive relationship between employees' CCB and work-family conflict, with work stress mediating this relationship. The study also shows that proactive personality moderates the effects of CCB on work stress and work-family conflict, with a stronger relationship when proactive personality is high.

Spoiling for a fight: A relational model of daily work-family balance satisfaction

Min (Maggie) Wan et al.

Summary: The study explores the influence of work and family factors on employees' work-family balance satisfaction (WFBS) and the within-person dynamics of WFBS on a daily basis. Negative work reflection mediates work interpersonal conflict and WFBS, while negative affect mediates family interpersonal conflict and WFBS. Increasing family social resources serves as a beneficial buffer against the detrimental effect of family interpersonal conflict on work-family balance satisfaction.

Summary: With the development of social economy and the transformation of family structure, the conflict between work and family is becoming more and more obvious, especially for professional women. This study found that there was no significant difference in work-family conflict between men and women. Both men and women did not lower their work engagement when work interfered with family issues. However, when families interfered with work, women were less likely to engage in work compared to men.

Relationship between work-family conflict and turnover intention in nurses: A meta-analytic review

Bora Yildiz et al.

Summary: The meta-analysis revealed a moderate, positive, and significant relationship between work-family conflict and turnover intention. Individualism and long-term orientation were identified as significant moderators in this relationship, explaining 90% of the effect size heterogeneity. Cultures characterized by high individualism and long-term orientation were found to weaken the link between work-family conflict and turnover intention.

Links Between Work-Family Conflict, Enrichment, and AdolescentWell-Being: Parents' and Children's Perspectives

Marisa Matias et al.

Summary: This study analyzed both parents' and adolescents' perspectives on work-family conflict (WFC) and enrichment (WFE) and its crossover to adolescent well-being, via quality of parent-child relationships. The findings showed that mothers' WFC and both parents' WFE were significantly associated with the quality of the relationships with children, and only mothers' WFC was indirectly linked to the well-being of adolescents. These results emphasize the importance of considering multiple informants in research and highlight adolescents' critical perspective over their parents' work-family interface.
