Ratiometric fluorescence probe based on monochromatic dual-emission carbon nanodots with fluorescence spectral change

Aniruddha Molla et al.

Summary: We present a monochromatic dual-emission carbon nanodot (CD) as a unique ratiometric fluorescence probe. The CD shows fluorescence spectral change from monochromatic blue to green emission induced by Fe(III) ions and hydroxyl radicals. The monochromatic fluorescence spectral change of CD is utilized for ratiometric fluorescence assay to distinguish Fe(III) and Fe(II) in aqueous media.

Enhancement Mechanism of Quantum Yield in Alloyed-Core/Shell Structure of ZnS-CuInS2/ZnS Quantum Dots

Hyeong Seop Shim et al.

Summary: CuInS2 (CIS) quantum dots (QDs) show potential as attractive alternatives to toxic QDs when their quantum yield (QY) becomes comparable. The enhancement of QY in alloyed core/shell structures is attributed to the evolution of electronic structures and suppression of defect states, leading to broad spectral bands and reduced toxicity concerns.

Oxygen-less Carbon Nanodots with an Absolute Quantum Yield of 80% for Display Applications

Taehyung Lee et al.

Summary: CNDs are organic-based fluorophores prepared from various carbon sources through specific oxidation reactions, with extremely low oxygen content and high quantum yield. They exhibit strong excitation-independent photoluminescence in the yellow to orange range of the visible spectrum, making them suitable for future display applications.
