An effective optical chemosensor film for selective detection of mercury ions

Reham Ali et al.

Summary: A novel chemosensor film was developed and designed for detecting Hg(II) ions, relying on the molecule DTD. The designed film exhibits significant fluorescence emission at specific wavelengths and distinctive fluorescence peaks upon chelation with Hg(II) ions. The study demonstrates the high sensitivity and selectivity of the chemosensor film, with a low detection limit for Hg(II) and a high binding constant for DTD.
