This study shows that biogenic silver nanoparticles are more effective antimicrobial agents compared to copper nanoparticles, providing promising preliminary data for their potential use in managing different pathogens.

Influence of Silver Nanoparticles on the Biological Indicators of Haplic Chernozem

Summary: This study aimed to assess the impact of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) on the biological properties of Haplic Chernozem soil. Results indicated that the concentration of AgNPs in soil influenced the reduction of biological properties, with a higher impact on bacterial quantity and enzymatic activity than on the abundance of Azotobacter bacteria. The integrated index of biological state (IIBS) decreased with AgNPs contamination, highlighting the potential for using biological indicators for monitoring and regulating ecological conditions in soil contaminated with AgNPs.
