Should continuous glucose monitoring systems be offered to all patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus?

Michael John Lockhart et al.

Summary: Type 1 diabetes mellitus is a chronic autoimmune condition characterized by autoimmune destruction of pancreatic beta cells. Tight glycemic control is important for preventing complications, but the risk of hypoglycemia must be balanced. Continuous glucose monitoring systems have shown to improve glycemic control and quality of life for patients with T1DM.
