A Bayesian Kriging model applied for spatial downscaling of daily rainfall from GCMs

Summary: An alternative approach using a Bayesian Kriging model for downscaling daily GCM rainfall simulation is explored to address parameter uncertainties more effectively. The proposed method is tested using historical rainfall data and climate model simulations, demonstrating its adequacy in downsizing GCM-determined daily rainfall and preserving spatial variability observed in gauged data.

Comparison and assessment of spatial downscaling methods for enhancing the accuracy of satellite-based precipitation over Lake Urmia Basin

Summary: Estimating high-resolution precipitation data is crucial for various hydrological, meteorological, and water management applications. This study evaluated five downscaling methods and found that support vector machine (SVM) outperformed others, with the inclusion of land surface temperature and geographic information improving the performance. The results also showed that downsizing and geographical difference analysis (GDA) calibration significantly enhanced the accuracy of TRMM 3B43 product at spatial and temporal levels.
