An Experimental Study on the Mechanical Properties and Expansion Characteristics of a Novel Self-Swelling Cartridge for Rock Breakage

Shuai Xu et al.

Summary: The application of conventional SCDAs is complicated due to extrusion and difficulty in wet or up-tilt boreholes. An innovative self-swelling cartridge (SSC) is developed to address these issues, which shows promising expansibility and mechanical properties. The SSC has a recommended agent packing density of 1.65 g/cm(3) and is easy to use, making it suitable for fracturing rock masses in various borehole conditions.

Evaluation of the use of sublevel open stoping in the mining of moderately dipping medium-thick orebodies

Shuai Xu et al.

Summary: The paper introduces a diamond layout sublevel open stoping system for mining moderately dipping medium-thick orebodies, evaluates the relationship between ore recovery and various factors through experiments, and develops a prediction model. The experimental results confirm the feasibility of the proposed mining method.

Effect of the benzene ring of the dispersant on the rheological characteristics of coal-water slurry: Experiments and theoretical calculations

Lin Li et al.

Summary: In this study, low-rank coal-water slurry (LCWS) was prepared using PDPE and PLE as dispersants. The results showed that PDPE exhibited better pulping performance than PLE, with its benzene ring facilitating adsorption on coal through pi-pi stacking effect. Simulation results indicated that PDPE adsorbed on coal more easily and had a more stable binding compared to PLE.

The influence of borehole arrangement of soundless cracking demolition agents (SCDAs) on weakening the hard rock

Wei Tang et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the effect of borehole angles on the implementation of soundless cracking demolition agents (SCDAs) in coal mines through numerical simulation. The results indicated that the elevation angle of the borehole has a greater impact on the efficacy of SCDA, serving as a dominant factor influencing its effect.

An experimental study on the anchoring characteristics of an innovative self-swelling Split-set

Shuai Xu et al.

Summary: The innovative self-swelling Split-set proposed in this paper improves anchorage performance by increasing contact force between the rockbolt and borehole walls through radial expansion pressure induced by the hydration reaction of self-swelling rolls. Additionally, it is easy to install and has a low unit cost.
