An unsteady thermal investigation of a wetted longitudinal porous fin of different profiles

G. Sowmya et al.

Summary: The thermal behavior of a porous longitudinal fin in a fully wet condition with convection and radiation effects was modeled in this study. Different shapes of fins were considered and a comparison showed that triangular fins have a faster temperature drop rate while rectangular fins have a higher efficiency.

Analysis of Transient Thermal Distribution in a Convective-Radiative Moving Rod Using Two-Dimensional Differential Transform Method with Multivariate Pade Approximant

Ganeshappa Sowmya et al.

Summary: In this study, the transient temperature distribution of a convective-radiative moving rod with temperature-dependent internal heat generation and non-linearly varying temperature-dependent thermal conductivity is examined. The impact of non-dimensional parameters such as heat generation, radiative, temperature ratio, and conductive parameters on transient temperature profiles is analyzed. The research shows that the transient temperature profile of the moving rod increases with time and is enhanced by heat generation, but decreases significantly with higher values of convective-radiative and convective-conductive parameters.

Thermophysical Properties of Hybrid Nanofluids and the Proposed Models: An Updated Comprehensive Study

Mohammad M. Rashidi et al.

Summary: The thermal performance of energy conversion systems is crucial for efficiency improvement and depends heavily on the thermophysical features of the applied fluids. Increasing the volume fraction of solids can enhance thermal conductivity and dynamic viscosity, while the variation trend of specific heat depends on the base fluid. Higher temperature leads to increased thermal conductivity but decreased dynamic viscosity.

Thermal and rheological investigation of non-Newtonian fluids in an induced-charge electroosmotic micromixer

Mohammad Alipanah et al.

Summary: This study developed an induced-charge electroosmotic solver considering Joule heating effects to investigate the rheological effects of non-Newtonian fluids in a trapezoidal micromixer. The results showed that the proposed micromixer offers advantages of high mixing efficiency and flow rate, especially in Newtonian and shear-thinning fluids.

Thermal distribution through a moving longitudinal trapezoidal fin with variable temperature-dependent thermal properties using DTM-Pade approximant

M. C. Jayaprakash et al.

Summary: The study analyzed the thermal distribution of a convective-radiative longitudinal trapezoidal moving fin with an internal heat source, emphasizing the influence of several dimensionless parameters. The results show that as certain parameters increase, the thermal distribution through the fin gradually decreases or increases.

Heat transfer analysis of rectangular porous fins in local thermal non-equilibrium model

Bernardo Buonomo et al.

Summary: In this study, an analytical solution was derived for a porous fin with natural convection and radiation heat transfer using the Local Thermal Non-Equilibrium model. The results showed that as the Biot and Rayleigh numbers decrease, the solid phase temperature decreases and the difference between solid and fluid phase temperatures reduces. Additionally, an increase in thermal conductivity ratio and dimensionless thickness results in higher solid phase temperatures.

Analytical solution of nonlinear differential equations two oscillators mechanism using Akbari-Ganji method

Saman Hosseinzadeh et al.

Summary: This study introduced several potent analytical methods used in the past decade to solve nonlinear differential equations and demonstrated the application of the Akbari-Ganji method in solving mechanical oscillator movement problems. The sensitivity analysis showed that the mass has the highest sensitivity on oscillation frequency, and increasing alpha and beta will lead to an increase in the system velocity and acceleration slope.

Numerical Simulation of Hybrid Nanofluid Mixed Convection in a Lid-Driven Square Cavity with Magnetic Field Using High-Order Compact Scheme

M. M. Rashidi et al.

Summary: This study simulated the energy transference of a hybrid nanosuspension under the influence of a magnetic field, showing that the solid volume fraction of nanoparticles in the hybrid nanofluid has a significant impact on heat transfer efficiency. Proper selection of flow parameters like Richardson number and Hartmann number can enhance the heat transmission rate.
