Combustion characteristics of a diesel engine running with Mandarin essential oil -diesel mixtures and propanol additive under different exhaust gas recirculation: Experimental investigation and numerical simulation

M. S. Gad et al.

Summary: This study investigated the impact of blending mandarin essential oil with diesel fuel on engine performance under various loads and a fixed speed. Experimental results showed that adding mandarin essential oil can reduce emissions and fuel consumption, but increase NOx emissions. Simulation results indicated that the EGR approach effectively reduces NOx levels with minimal impact on soot levels.

Study on flow and heat transfer performance of X-type truss array cooling channel

Lei Xi et al.

Summary: This study investigated the flow and heat transfer characteristics of an innovative cooling channel filled with a novel X-type truss array structure. The results indicate that increasing Reynolds number enhances the heat transfer coefficient of the channel. Moderate values of truss rod diameter ratio, transverse spacing ratio, and streamwise spacing ratio can improve the comprehensive thermal performance of the cooling channel.

Numerical and experimental study of air containment systems in legacy data centers focusing on thermal performance and air leakage

Jinkyun Cho et al.

Summary: Hot-aisle containment (HAC) and cold-aisle containment (CAC) are vital techniques for data center cooling, but issues with airtightness can impact their effectiveness. Studies have shown that selecting HAC can improve thermal performance, especially under high air leakage conditions.

Effect of asymmetric structural characteristics of multi-hole marine diesel injectors on internal cavitation patterns and flow characteristics: A numerical study

Wei Guan et al.

Summary: The study shows that asymmetric structural characteristics of the nozzle significantly influence the interior flow, with larger diameter leading to higher mass flow rates and flow discharge coefficients. The concave sphere shapes connecting the injector body and the holes help reduce the negative effects of eccentric holes. Different hole scales and shapes result in different flow phenomena.
