Progress in fabrication of one-dimensional catalytic materials by electrospinning technology

Silong Zhu et al.

Summary: Electrospinning technology is a simple, versatile, and cost-efficient method used for large-scale fabrication of one-dimensional nanomaterials. The one-dimensional fibrous materials prepared by electrospinning possess large specific surface area, tunable chemical composition, and high porosity, making them extensively applied in the field of catalysis. Various one-dimensional electrospun fibrous catalytic materials have been investigated in applications such as photocatalysis, thermocatalysis, and electrocatalysis, with a focus on the relation between catalytic properties and composition, unique one-dimensional structure, morphology, and related catalytic mechanisms.

Mesoporous Rh nanoparticles as efficient electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction

Jiyoung Kim et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the high electrocatalytic performance of mesoporous rhodium nanoparticles (MRNs) for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in an acidic media. The MRNs exhibit lower overpotential, smaller Tafel slope, enhanced exchange current density, and excellent stability, attributed to their uniform mesoporous morphology and robust structure.

Experimental and theoretical investigation of the control and balance of active sites on oxygen plasma-functionalized MoSe 2 nanosheets for efficient hydrogen evolution reaction

Dezhi Xiao et al.

Summary: Plasma functionalization has been shown to enhance the electrocatalytic activity of catalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction, and this study investigates the effects of oxygen plasma processing on MoSe2 nanosheets. The findings suggest that moderate plasma parameters can improve the HER characteristics by introducing doping effects and enhancing charge transfer through the introduction of oxygen and vacancies. This research provides valuable insights into the fundamental mechanisms of plasma surface functionalization of electrochemical catalysts and highlights the importance of precise control of plasma processing parameters for efficient water splitting.
