The Functional Crosstalk between Myeloid-Derived Suppressor Cells and Regulatory T Cells within the Immunosuppressive Tumor Microenvironment

Maximilian Haist et al.

Summary: Immunotherapy has shown benefits for advanced cancer patients, but many still do not respond to treatment. The accumulation of immunosuppressive cell populations like MDSC and Treg in the tumor microenvironment contributes to immune resistance and limits the effectiveness of immunotherapy.

Osteopontin Blockade Immunotherapy Increases Cytotoxic T Lymphocyte Lytic Activity and Suppresses Colon Tumor Progression

John D. Klement et al.

Summary: Despite the lack of response to current immune checkpoint inhibitor immunotherapy, a study has shown that osteopontin (OPN) inhibition can promote colon tumor growth, while OPN neutralization monoclonal antibodies can suppress colon tumor growth. OPN clones 100D3 and 103D6 have shown potential in enhancing tumor-specific CTLs in killing colon tumor cells and suppressing colon tumor growth.

Targeting regulatory T cells for immunotherapy in melanoma

Lili Huang et al.

Summary: Tregs play a crucial role in the immune response to melanoma, and targeting these cells is a promising strategy for improving anti-melanoma immunity. However, the lack of specific therapeutic antibodies remains a major obstacle in this field.
