Tuning the structure of borane-nitrogen derivatives towards high-performance carbon nanotubes-based n-type thermoelectric materials

Xianhua Mao et al.

Summary: Recently, organic boron compounds have been shown to be effective n-type dopants for improving the thermoelectric performance of single-walled carbon nanotubes, with their structure and reducing ability playing a significant role. Among them, SWCNT/PYB exhibited the best performance at all investigated temperatures, with the highest power factor values reported to date based on boron-containing SWCNT composites.

Combined effect of N-methyl pyrrolidone and ferrocene derivatives on thermoelectric performance of n-type single-wall carbon nanotube-based composites

Xiuxiu Nie et al.

Summary: This study successfully enhanced the thermoelectric properties of n-type SWCNT-based composites by developing three low-cost organometallic complexes and studying the effect of solvents. Among the three OMCs, SWCNT/FcMA displayed the highest TE performance, indicating the potential for promising applications of OMCs in future n-type carbon nanotube-based TE materials.

Promoting the Thermoelectric Performance of Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes by Inserting Discotic Liquid-Crystal Molecules

Xinxin Li et al.

Summary: By integrating the discotic liquid-crystal HAT6 into SWCNT-based composites, the Seebeck coefficients of the composite films are significantly improved, leading to a higher power factor at room temperature. The study demonstrates the promising potential of SWCNT/discotic liquid-crystal composites in thermoelectric materials and the development of TE devices.

Flexible poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-tosylate/SWCNT composite films with ultrahigh electrical conductivity for thermoelectric energy harvesting

Lirong Liang et al.

Summary: Organic conductive polymer/carbon nanoparticle thermoelectric composites have attracted attention due to their promising structural and electrical characteristics. By combining chemical oxidative polymerization, acid-treatment of SWCNT, and vacuum filtration, flexible films of PEDOT-Tos/a-SWCNT composites with enhanced TE performance were fabricated. The layered morphology and strong pi-pi interactions between polymer chains and SWCNT contribute to a highly conductive network, while the acid-treatment acts as p-type doping for SWCNT to achieve high electrical conductivity. This study demonstrates the potential for polymer-based composites in TE applications.
