A retrospective approach to evaluating potential adverse outcomes associated with delay of procedures for cardiovascular and cancer-related diagnoses in the context of COVID-19

Summary: This study used electronic health record data from Vanderbilt University Medical Center to investigate the impact of delaying procedures during the COVID-19 pandemic on patient health outcomes. The results showed that 416 surgical procedures were negatively impacted during the study period, with 27 significant associations identified. The study suggests that delaying procedures may have adverse effects on patient outcomes.
